Contemporary extension to traditional cottage

Woodhall Spa

This project was a contemporary extension to a traditional cottage in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, created in close collaboration with the architect* and homeowner. The aim was to design a light, airy space that feels easy to live in—perfect for family life, entertaining, and making the most of the surrounding views.

I looked after the lighting and electrical plans, joinery drawings, and the selection of materials and fittings throughout. I also designed the layouts for a new kitchen and two bathrooms, focusing on making them both practical and visually cohesive.

To bring everything together, I developed a calm, relaxed colour palette and sourced lighting, furniture, and soft furnishings—mixing the client’s existing pieces with new finds to create a space that feels personal and lived-in.

"I was delighted by how much thought Rebecca put into research of what was available. I greatly appreciated that she found different price ranges for each choice of item, for example lighting, doors, curtains/blinds. I really enjoyed the whole process and looked forward to hearing Rebecca's suggestions. I love the way everything comes together and it looks exactly how I want the house to feel."
